Coolant. Mixing
WARNING!
All glycol is dangerous to human
health and ecologically damaging. Shall not be
consumed!
Glycol is flammable.
IMPORTANT!
Ethylene glycol should not be
mixed with other types of glycol.
Mix:
40 % “Volvo Penta Coolant” (conc. coolant)
60 % water
This mixture protects against internal corrosion, cavi-
tation and frost damage down to -28 °C. (Using 60 %
glycol lowers the freezing point to -54 °C.) Never mix
more than 60 % concentrate (Volvo Penta Coolant) in
the cooling liquid, since this would give reduced cool-
ing effect and increase the risk of overheating and
frost damage.
IMPORTANT!
Coolant shall be mixed with
pure
water, use
distilled - de-ionized water
. The wa-
ter must
fulfill the requirements specified by Vol-
vo Penta, see “Water quality”.
IMPORTANT!
It is extremely important that the
correct concentration of coolant is added to the
system. Mix in a separate clean vessel before
filling the cooling system. Make sure that the liq-
uids mix.
