Coolant. Changing
The corrosion-proofing additives become less effec-
tive with time and the coolant must be changed. If
the freshwater system is filled with antifreeze mix-
ture it must be changed every other year. If the sys-
tem is filled with anti-corrosion agent mixture it must
be changed every year.
Coolant. Draining
Remove the filler cap on the expansion tank (this lets
the coolant run out faster). Put a container under the
drain cock on the hose without a blue marking (1).
Open the drain cock and drain coolant. Then continue
by draining the coolant from the other drain cocks
(2–5). Flush out the heat exchanger as follows before
filling coolant.
NOTE! Deposit old coolant at a properly designated
disposal site.
Heat exchanger. Flushing out
Cooling performance is reduced by scaling in the
heat exchanger. It should therefore be flushed when
the coolant is changed.
1. Drain the coolant as above.
2. Insert a hose into the filler pipe on the expansion
tank. Flush with fresh water until the water which
runs out of the drain cocks is clean. Allow all the
water to run out.
3. Close the drain cocks. Fill with new coolant to
correct level. Reinstall the filler cap.
IMPORTANT! If there is a danger of freezing
never top up with plain water, always add anti-
freeze mixture.
