7. Before you start
a) How to charge the battery
• Before you use the thermal imager for the first time, charge the battery for 3-3.5 hours.
• The battery status is shown on the six-segment charge indicator.
• To charge the battery, follow these steps:
1 Connect the AC power adapter to a wall outlet, and then connect the DC output to the thermal imager’s
AC power socket (the charging light will illuminate when charging). The battery indicator will show
“
” while the battery is charging.
2 Charge the battery until the charge indicator displays “
”.
3 Disconnect the AC power adapter when the battery is fully charged.
Note: Make sure that the thermal imager is near room temperature before connecting to the charger. Do not charge
the battery in particularly hot or cold conditions. The battery capacity may be decreased when charged in extreme
temperature conditions.
b) Power on
To turn the thermal imager on, press the Power/Lock “
” button for about 2 seconds.
Note: After powering on the thermal imager, it needs sufficient warm-up time in order to ensure the most accurate
temperature measurements and best image quality. As such, the visible image will first appear for several seconds
while the thermal sensor is calibrating. The thermal image will then be displayed on the screen, as shown below.
c) Power off
With the thermal imager powered on, press and hold the Power/Lock “
” button for two seconds. The following
popup will be displayed. Press “OK” to power off the device.
