5.3 Operating the CD operation
Inserting the CD
−
Insert a 12 cm audio CD into the CD slot with the printed side facing upwards
until it is
automatically drawn in.
The device switches to CD operation automatically and starts the playback.
The CD operation can be ended at any time by pressing
and you can switch to another audio
source.
Ejecting the CD
−
Press the
button to move an inserted CD to the removal position.
If the CD is not removed from the device within ten seconds, it is drawn back into the device
automatically to protect it against damager.
Even when the device is deactivated, a CD can be ejected to the removal position by pressing the
button.
Select the CD track
−
Turn the setting knob
or press the button
or
.
The number of the current track selected is shown in the display.
Fast forwards/backwards skipping
−
Keep the button
or
pressed to search through the current track being played with fast
forwards/backwards skipping.
−
Let go of the respective button when the position of the track has been reached.
SCAN function
The SCAN function is started and stopped by briefly pressing the
setting knob.
When the SCAN function is activated, all tracks of a CD are played back for approx. 8 seconds. For
selecting a track, end the SCAN function when the track is being played.
The activated SCAN function is shown on the display as SCAN.
Repeating the track
If the track repeat button
is pressed when a music track is being played, this title will continue to
be repeated until the button
is pressed again to end it.
The activated track repeating function is shown on the display as RPT.
Random play
The random play is started with the
button. When the random play function is activated, all
tracks of a CD are played back in a random order.
The random play is ended by pressing the
button again. The random play function is also
stopped by starting the SCAN function, the track repeat or the fast forwards/backwards skipping.
The activated random play function is shown on the display as RDM.
Pause button
The playback of a track can be interrupted temporarily by pressing the
button.
By pressing the
button, the playback will be resumed.

MP3/WMA operation
MP3 and WMA music tracks that are saved on CDs, USB memory sticks, MP3 playback devices or
iPod
®
, can be played using the device.
6.1 MP3/WMA operation
MP3/WMA track playback
Playback of MP3 or WMA music tracks is started when an USB memory stick or a CD is inserted or after
selecting an MP3/WMA audio source CD, AUX-IN or USB using the button
.
Select folder with MP3/WMA track
−
Press the button
to skip to the next folder saved.
−
Press the button
to skip back to the previous folder.
Select an MP3/WMA track
−
Turn the setting knob
or press the button
or
.
When you turn the setting knob
to the left, you return to the previous track. Turn the setting knob
to the right, you skip to the next track.
When selecting an MP3/WMA music title using the setting knob
, all tracks saved can be selected.
The selection is not limited to the current folder.
Fast forwards/backwards skipping

Keep the button

pressed to search through the current track being played with fast
forwards/backwards skipping.

Let go of the respective button when the position of the track has been reached.

During the playback of an MP3 or WMA music file, the track repeat can be started by
briefly
pressing
the
button. The current track is repeated until the button
of the track repeat function is
pressed again to end it.
If the track repeat function is started by
keeping
the button
pressed longer, then all tracks saved
in the current folder will continue to be repeated until the button
of the track repeat function is
pressed again to end it.
The activated track repeating function is shown on the display as RPT.
The track repeat function is also stopped by starting the SCAN function, the random play function or the
fast forwards/backwards skipping.
Random play
The random play is started by
briefly
pressing the
button. When the random play function is
activated, all tracks of all folders are played in a random order.
If the random play function is started by
keeping
the button
pressed longer, then all tracks saved
in the current folder will continue to be played in a random order.
The random play is ended by pressing the
button again. The random play function is also
stopped by starting the SCAN function, the track repeat or the fast forwards/backwards skipping.
The activated random play function is shown on the display as RDM.
