3
General operation
3.1 Operation during the trip
The demands on today's roads invariably demand the driver's total concentration.
3.2 Switch ON/OFF
The device is switched on by pressing the setting knob
or by turning on the vehicle ignition. The
station previously set is played back at the switching on volume saved (see below).
The device is switched off by pressing the setting knob again or by turning off
the vehicle ignition.
3.3 Audio source selection
By repeatedly pressing the
button, you are able to select the desired audio sources the
sequence of FM1, FM2, MW1, MW2, CD, AUX-IN or USB. After an initial run, the selection begins again
with FM1. CD and USB will only be displayed as a possible selection when a CD has been inserted or a
device has been connected to the USB socket.
If a CD has been inserted or a device connected to the USB socket, the respective audio source is
selected automatically and the playback begins.
3.4 Audio settings
Setting the volume
−
When the radio is switched on, turn the control knob
to the left to reduce the playback volume or
to the right to increase the playback volume.
During the setting, the value "VOL1...32" or "VOL MIN" or "VOL MAX" are shown in the display.
Setting the bass

Keep pressing the
button
briefly
until "BASS" is shown on the display. Turn the control knob
to set the bass.
During the setting, the value "BASS+6...-6" is shown in the display. If no settings are made, the device
leaves the audio setting menu automatically after a short period.
Setting the treble

Keep pressing the
button
briefly
until "TREB" is shown on the display. Turn the control knob
to
set the treble.
During the setting, the value "TREB+6...-6" is shown in the display. If no settings are made, the device
leaves the audio setting menu automatically after a short period.
Setting the balance

Keep pressing the
button
briefly
until "BAL" is shown on the display. Turn the control knob
to
set the volume arrangement to the left/right.
During the setting, the value "BAL LEFT 6...RIGHT 6" or "CENTER" are shown in the display. If no settings
are made, the device leaves the audio setting menu automatically after a short period.
CAUTION!
●
Ensure your attention is primarily focussed on driving. Distraction of the driver can result in
accident and injuries.
●
Do not let adjusting or use of the device distract you from the traffic situation.
●
Only use the device if road, weather and traffic conditions allow and you will not be
distracted from driving.
●
Set the volume such that signals outside the car, e. g. police and fire service klaxons, are
clearly audible at all times.

Setting the fading
−
Keep pressing the
button
briefly
until "FADE" is shown on the display. Turn the control knob
to set the volume arrangement to the front/rear.
During the setting, the value "FRONT 6...REAR 6" or "CENTER" are shown in the display. If no settings
are made, the device leaves the audio setting menu automatically after a short period.
Setting the switching on volume
When switching on the device, the audio source selected is always played back with the switching on
volume saved. The factory setting (VOL 6) can be changed as follows:
−
Keep the
button pressed until the setting menu SET ONVOL appears in the display. Turn the
control knob
to set the switching on volume.
During the setting, the value "VOL1...32" or "VOL MIN" or "VOL MAX" are shown in the display. If no
settings are made, the device leaves the setting menu automatically after a short period.
Beware!
●
Do not press the knobs and buttons of the device too hard to prevent causing damage to it. A light
push of the button is sufficient to operate the device.
●
Do not open the device. There is nothing inside the device that can be repaired by the user.
●
Use a soft and dry cloth to clean the device. Never use
rough cloths, thinner, petroleum, alcohol, etc.
With intensive dirt, use a lightly moistened dry cloth to wipe the dirt away carefully.
●
Never insert foreign objects (screwdriver, penknife, metal objects, etc.) into the openings of the
device as these may damage the device. Such damage is not covered by the guarantee.

Radio operation
4.1 Operating the radio
Change the frequency range
The frequency ranges of FM and MW can be received by the radio. By repeatedly pressing the
button, the desired frequency range can be selected. The frequency range is shown in the display.
Automatic station scanning
Press
or
to start an automatic station scan to the next or the previous station on the same
frequency range. "SEARCH" is shown in the display during the station scan. Only those stations with a
strong reception will be offered.
Manual station scan
The frequency of the desired station can be set by turning the setting knob to the
left or tot he right.
The frequency is shown in the display.
Search frequency range (SCAN)
By pressing the setting knob
the station scan is started in the current frequency range. During the
search, "SCAN" is shown in the display and all stations that have a good reception are each played for
approximately 8 seconds. For selecting the current station being played and to stop the station scan, the
setting knob
must be pressed again.
Saving radio stations
You can save 12 FM and 12 MW stations. There are 2 memory levels (FM1/FM2 or MW1/MW2), each
with 6 memory pre-sets available for each frequency range.
A radio station is saved as follows:
−
Select the desired frequency range (FM or MW) and the memory level (1 or 2) by repeatedly pressing
the button
.

Set the station to be saved using the automatic or manual station scan.
−
Keep the desired station button
...
pressed until the signal sounds. Any stations previously
saved on this station button will be lost.
The radio station is saved and the station button assigned.
