1. After the installation of the seal system proceed to the installation of the press housing.
2. Install impeller O'ring and then lift impeller and position it to the shaft. Screw the impeller into position by turning the shaft
from the drive side keeping the impeller stationary.
3. Install clamping rings to the volute and then mount the volute to the press housing. Install casing bolts on press side in
preparation for pump seal. Screw and tighten the aligned studs against the casing on the same side (Figure 19).
4. Once the volute is installed on the press side install suction casing by aligning the bores with the studs installed in the
press casing.

Impeller
Adjustment
The following procedure describes how the impeller clearance is generally adjusted on a VOGT pump. In order to improve
efficiency and component life a GAP (Figure 20) between impeller and suction side of between 1 and 2 [mm] should be left.
The following steps are described for this purpose:
•
Confirm that the Adjusting Bolt Nuts do not impede the movement of the bearing carrier assembly. Confirm that the
Tie Bolt Nuts are loose.
•
Rotate the shaft clockwise. Using the Adjusting Nut move the Impeller forward. This is towards the Suction Disc.
Move forward until the Impeller starts to rub against the Suction Disc.
•
Back off the Adjusting Nut 1/3 turn (two sides of the hexagon) to leave a small gap between the Nut and the ear of
the bearing holder assembly. With the other Adjusting Nut move the Bearing Holder back until the Ear is firmly tightened.
•
Secure the bearing holder assembly by tightening the Nuts on side B to a torque of 180 Nm±10%.
Confirm that the Impeller rotates freely in the Clockwise direction at least one full turn.
An impeller setting that generates excessive friction against the suction disk can cause serious damage to the pump.
