Important Safety Instructions

When using  your telephone equipment, basic safety precautions
(incl ud ing the following) shoul d always be followed to red uc e the risk of
fire, electric shock, and injury to persons.

»  Read and understand all instruc tions.

»  Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the telephone.

» 

Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners on the telephone; use a 
damp cloth for cl eaning.

»  Do not operate the telep hone around water (i.e., near a b ath tub, 

wash bowl, ki tc hen si nk, laundry tub, swimming pool, or in a wet 
basement).

»  Do not place this telep hone on an unstable cart, stand, or table. The 

telephone may fall causing serious damage to the telephone.

»  Slots and  openings on the bottom of the telephone are provided for 

ventilation to protec t i t from overheating. These openings must not 
be blocked or covered. The openi ngs shoul d never be blocked by 
placing the telephone on the bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface. 
This tel ephone should never be placed near or over a radiator or heat 
register. This telephone should not be placed in a built-in i nstal lation 
unless proper ventilation is provided.

» 

Never  push any objects into  this  tel ephone through  slots as  they may 
touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts that could result 
in a fire or elec tri c shock. Never pour any liquid s on the telephone.

»  To reduce the risk of elec tric shock, do not disassemble this 

telephone. Take the telephone to a qualifi ed serviceman when 
service or rep air work i s needed. Op ening or removing covers may 
expose you to dangerous voltage or other risks. I ncorrect reassembly 
can cause electric shock when the app liance is subsequently used.

»  Avoid using a telep hone (other than a cordless type) during an 

elec tri cal storm. There may be a remote risk of electric shoc k from 
lightning.

»  Do not use the telephone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of the 

leak.
