9.1 SELECTING MIDI CHANNELS
MIDI channels are not fixed to organ sections. The association can also be
affected by the settings of the receiving instrument, and so MIDI channels
must be selected manually.
Choir Master
can communicate with Viscount
organs using these standard settings: Pedalboard channel 4, Great channel 2,
Swell channel 1, Choir channel 3.
Channel settings might be different in the receiving/transmitting instrument.
This will cause the notes to be transmitted to the wrong sections. Should this
happen, modify the
Choir Master
settings to match the instrument’s.
To set the
Choir Master
channels, enter the SETUP menu and select the
MIDI CHANNELS field. This page will appear:
Use the [
S
] and [
T
] buttons to move the cursor; press [+] and [-] to select the
channel. Press [EXIT] to leave the page and save the new settings.
NB:
-
It is not possible to assign the same MIDI channel to two or more
organ’s sections.
-
MIDI 16 channel cannot be selected since it is the system channel
used for the exchange of internal codes between Viscount
instruments.
-
The channel settings of this function are not applied with GENERIC
songs. In this case, MIDI data are transmitted on the channels
described in the MIDI file.
