4.4 Flue gas connection
Chimney
A chimney corresponding to regulations
and appropriate for the rated boiler
output is a pre−requisite for an efficient
operation.
Note that in its lower output range,
Vitolig 200 can create flue gas
temperatures below 160
º
C. Therefore,
connect combustion equipment to highly
insulated chimney stacks (thermal
resistance class I acc. to DIN 18160T1)
or use suitable, moisture−resistant flue
gas systems, which have been
type−approved. The chimney should
provide a smooth interior and must not
have any cracks or restrictions.
The installation of a draught restrictor is
recommended for brick chimneys and
draughts above 0.25 mbar.

Flue pipe
The vacuum draught fan may induce
vibrations, which may lead to a noise
nuisance. We therefore recommend the
use of a flue pipe silencer or a flexible
chimney adaptor.
Note the following when connecting the
flue pipe:
H
Install the flue pipe rising to the
chimney (if possible with 45
º
). Max.
flue pipe length 3000 mm.
A flue pipe stretch with a slight
inclination (up to 30
º
) or
one which is horizontal may be of a
length of max. 1000 mm.
H
Provide the flue pipe with thermal
insulation (min. thickness 50 mm).
H
Do not push the flue pipe too far into
the chimney.
H
Ensure the full flue gas path (incl.
clean−out cover) is gas−tight.
H
Do not insert the flue pipe into the
brickwork of the chimney; instead use a
flexible flue pipe adaptor for connection
to the chimney.
Set the clean−out cover (check for
leaks).
