4.6.3 Connections for alarm handling
4.6.3.1 Alarm contacts
With reference to Chap. 3.2.1
Alarm contact types
and to the table of DB25 pins of the
previous page , connect the alarm sensors to the contacts.
Warning! Do not power the alarm contacts! The sensors (or alarm control panel)
must supply a dry contact. To correctly handle alarms it is necessary to set the alarm
parameters with care during matrix configuration.
4.6.3.2.Auxiliary contact (alarm relay)
The SW164OSM matrix controls an auxiliary relay which is activated in case of alarm.
With reference to DB25 connector:
The contact between pin 19 and 20 is
normally closed, and is opened in case of
alarm. The contact between pin 21 and 20 is
normally open, and is closed in case of
alarm.
4.6.3.3 External reset
The pin 17 of DB25 connector is associated
with External Reset of the alarm condition. Ground pin is #23. Connecting pin 17 to pin 23
will reset the alarm.
Do not power the two contacts! Use a dry contact

4.6.4 Connecting the SW164OSM matrix to peripheral units
4.6.4.1 Keyboards control
KEYPLUS and DCS2 keyboards and the SW164OSM video matrix can be connected
directly by means of a telephone cable supplied by the manufacturer, to test the
connection between the devices.
Greater distances can be reached using wall RJ junction boxes (supplied together with
the control keyboards).
Maximum distances which can be reached are :
•
RS232: 15 meters (default set)
•
Current Loop: 1500 meters.
