Cables
In the above diagram different types of cable are used:
video cable:
Coax cable RG 59 or equivalent.
For long distances a twisted pair communication system is recommended.
multi core cable:
Each pan & tilt control function is enabled/disabled by an internal relay.
Use following indications to establish the number of wires into multipolar cables:
•
7 wires to handle P&T (230 V~ or 24 V~): right, left, up, down, autopan, common, ground (only
230 V~ version)
Another multipolar cable is for lenses control:
•
6 wires, for polarity inversion mode (zoom wide, zoom tele, focus near, focus, far, iris open, iris
close)
•
4 wires, for common wire mode (zoom, focus, iris, common)
•
2 wires for preset and 1 more for each preset function.
For auxiliary functions as wiper and washer 2 wires each are necessary.

cable for digital data transmission:
Two pairs of twisted pair wires, section 0.22 mm² AWG 24:
one pair for TX / Ground plus one pair for RX / Ground.
Maximum connection distance: 1500 m.
Length of cable supplied is 1.5 m: for longer distances use RJ junction boxes, following the
procedure described in Chap.4.6.4

4.4
Switching on and off
Before connecting the unit to power supply:
•
Check if the goods supplied correspond to the required specifications examining the rating plates
according to the Chap.1.7
Operating data labels

•
Make sure that the video switcher and other parts of the system are closed to avoid accidental
contact with powered equipment.
•
Power cords must not hamper the normal operations of the installer
•
Check if power supply sources and extension cables are compatible with system consumption.
SWITCHING ON
: plug in the unit and press the on/off switch.
SWITCHING OFF
: press the on/off switch and unplug the unit.
