Results page of the Light Source

Laser STOP / Laser ON
Start or Stop the light source (same behavior as the START/
STOP softkey of the control bar)
When the light source is
on
, the icon
is displayed.
The settings of the light source are directly accessible:
Wavelength
To change the wavelength when a multi-wavelength source is
present (depending on the wavelength available in the OTDR
module).
Mode
Select in the list the modulation mode of the light source:

270 Hz
/
330 Hz
/
1 kHz
/
2 kHz
–
Auto
(the light source is modulated at proprietary frequencies to enable VIAVI
power meters to automatically detect the wavelength)
–
TwinTest
(the light source is modulated and cycling through the available
wavelengths. This mode is compatible with VIAVI power meters to measure
multiple wavelengths automatically and sequentially).
–
CW
(continuous waveform with a constant amplitude and frequency).

Connect the fiber under test to the test port (see
CAUTION
Only the following Models have the Combo PM/OTDR function:
–
For 4100 OTDR series: E4138FB65, E4136FC, E4138FC65.
–
For SmartOTDR: E118FA65PPM, E138FA65, E136FB and
E138FB65.
