Chapter 

3  OneCheck Testing

Loopback

You can run Port, L2, and L3 1G and 10 G loopback tests from here.

1.  Connect the SFP or Ethernet ports on the meter to your network. See 

"Connecting to 

the network" on page 53

.

2.  From the Companion menu, select 

Loopback

.

 

The Loopback screen appears.

3.  Select a profile for the test, or create a new one. See 

"Profile Manager" on page 45 

for

 

more information. 

4.  Start the test by selecting the

 Start

 button at the bottom of the screen.

 

After a few 

minutes, the results are displayed.

5.  Once the physical layer is successful, the remote device should send a Loop Up.
6.  If Loop Up is processed by the NSC

 

y

Remote Device MAC (L2) / IP (L3) will be displayed under Network Tab.

 

y

Remote Device can Start sending L2/L3 traffic which will be looped back by NSC.

 

y

Frames received and sent counters will be incremented as traffic is looped

7.  At the end of the test, the Remote Device should Stop Traffic and send a Loop Down.
