Brandstofvoorziening
De brandstoftank kan van (roestvast) staal of kunststof zijn. Stalen tanks
mogen aan de binnenzijde niet verzinkt of geverfd zijn. Bij temperatuur
schommelingen ontstaat condens in de tank. Dit water verzamelt zich
op de bodem; een mogelijkheid tot aftappen is een vereiste voor iedere
tank. Er bestaan in sommige landen voorschriften die aansluitingen in
de bodem van de tank verbieden; daar dienen de aansluitingen door de
bovenzijde van de tank gevoerd en met inwendige leidingen tot op ca. 1
cm boven de bodem gebracht te worden.
De tank moet naast de vulaansluiting en de retouraansluiting een aparte
ontluchting hebben; de ontluchting aan dek moet goed beschermd zijn
tegen binnenkomend water.
Fuel supply
Fuel tanks can be made of (stainless) steel or of plastic. Steel tanks should
not be galvanised or painted inside. Condensation can occur when tem
perature changes; this water accumulates at the bottom of the tank. Some
official regulations do not allow connection points at the bottom; in those
cases the connections are to be made on top of the tank with internal tub
ing down to approx. 1 cm (3/8”) above the bottom of the tank.
The tank needs a filling connection, a return connection and an airvent
connection; the latter needs protection against ingress of water.
