Monteer het waterschepje bij motorschepen met de opening naar het
voorschip gericht, bij zeilschepen met de opening naar achter.
Gebruik een afdichtmiddel bij de montage van de waterschep. Monteer
het koelwaterfilter op een goed bereikbare plaats tenminste 15 cm boven
de waterlijn. Sluit de aanzuigslang aan op de fitting in de fundatie van de
generatorset.
Belemmering van de waterstroom, veroorzaakt door geknikte slangen, te
kleine leidingen of verkeerde koppelingen, vermindert het koelend ver
mogen. Dit is de meest voorkomende oorzaak van oververhitting van de
motor.
On motorboats the water scoop should be fitted with the opening faced
forwards and on sailing boats faced backwards so as to prevent water
being forced in during sailing. Use a sealant when mounting this skin fit
ting. Install the water strainer in a well accessible place, at least 15 cm (6”)
above the waterline. Connect the suction hose to the fitting at the bed of
the generator set.
Restriction of the raw water flow, caused by kinked hoses, undersized
lines, or faulty connections, will reduce the engine cooling capability. This
is the main cause for overheating of an engine.
