Locating heating cables

Disconnect all heating cable conductors
before connecting SG33 to it.

Connect SG33 between heating cable’s PE
conductor and ground. Locating accuracy is
good with this method, but a short section
at the end of the heating cable cannot be
located. Boost mode is recommended to
minimize the length of this section.

If PE conductor or ground is inaccessible or
the entire cable needs to be located,
connect SG33 between heating cable’s
current carrying conductors, possibly
marked live and neutral. Locating accuracy
may be lower using this method, but the
whole cable can be located if it is intact.
