EDIRECTION
The EBX-18 can be operated without using the on-board video output by redirecting the console
to an available COM port. In the BIOS Setup program, the Remote Access Configuration sub-
menu provides the ability to control console redirection. When console redirection is enabled,
you can access the BIOS Setup program by typing <Ctrl>-<C>.
The default settings for the redirected console are as follows:
Serial Port Number: [COM1]
Base Address, IRQ: [3F8h, 4]
Serial Port Mode: [115200, 8, n, 1] (115,200 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit)
Flow control: [None]
Terminal Type: [ANSI]
Figure 16 shows the wiring for a DB9-to-DB9 adapter for console redirection of an RS-232 serial
port.
