5. Putting into use
5.1 Loading and unloading
Avoid injury and damage due to incorrect positioning of the lift truck forks.
If the V-move has to be moved with a forklift, the lifting forks must be positioned in such a way that the
centre of gravity is between the forks. The easiest way is to grab the V-move from the side. The
centre of gravity is close to the battery compartment as that is the heaviest part of the machine.
5.2 Moving and towing the V-move
The V-move may only be moved by driving it under its own power or lifting it with a forklift.
Towing will seriously damage the drive.
5.3 Unintended use
The V-move is not suitable for transporting people or trailers carrying people.
The V-move is not suitable for moving goods that contain toxic, explosive, dangerous or flammable
substances.
The V-move is not approved for use on public roads.
The electrical components and wiring are splash-proof, so the V-move must be stored in a dry place.
5.4 Check before putting into use
In addition to proper maintenance, V-move operator must pay attention to the following points after
every use:
•
Check for any damage to the exterior of the vehicle.
•
Check the ramp and the lock for any damage.
•
Check that the batteries are sufficiently charged.
•
Drive forwards and backwards and check the braking performance.
•
While driving slowly, check the total manoeuvrability of the V-move.
•
Check the anti-crush device (belly button) on the steering handle grip by pressing the safety
switch; the V-move must not start.
If you notice a defect or have any doubts about the correct functioning of the V-move, it may
no longer be used. Warn Verhagen Leiden BV immediately.
