SERVICE
Cleaning and General Maintenance
For best results, and to maintain the finish of the
power blower, clean or wash the power blower after
each use to remove leaves, dirt, and other debris.
Lubrication
Use a lithium complex NLGI #2 grease to lubricate the
upper and lower fan shaft bearings every 50 hours of
operation or once per season. Usually 1-2 pumps of
grease is sufficient. If the lower fan shaft bearing is
subjected to water or other harsh environments, it
should be greased promptly and/or more frequently.
Remove the gauge wheels and grease the axle
shafts as needed.
Remove the plug (A) from the gearbox to check the
oil level. The oil level should be to the bottom of the
fill hole. If necessary, add EP 80-90 weight gear lube
to bring the oil to the proper level.
A
Belt Inspection
Inspecting the drive belts of the power blower can
prevent sudden belt failure by finding problems
before they cause a belt to break.
Typical wear
on a drive
belt may
result in the
conditions
shown in the
diagram. If
any of these
conditions
occur, the drive belt will require replacement.
Always set the parking brake, shut off power
unit engine, remove the ignition key, and ensure
all moving parts have come to a complete stop
before inspecting components or attempting any
repair or adjustment.
Attention
If any component requires replacement, use only
original Ventrac replacement parts.
