Here are answers to frequently asked questions about TLS-PC 32. If you need more details about how to perform a task,
please refer to the On-line Help.
How do you collect data manually?
Enter the site properties and click on the Data Collection Tab.
Click on any of the items that you wish to collect in the section
marked “Dial-in/Manual Collect”. Save any changes by clicking on
the “Save” button. (If you are already connected to the site click on
the “Collect Data” button from the tank graphics screen.)
How do you program an Automatic Data
Collection?
Enter the site properties and click on the Data Collection Tab.
Select a “Collection type”. You may edit collection type or create a
new collection type. Be sure to click on the Save button when you
have completed making setting changes. Leave the program
running on your computer so that it can execute the selected data
collection types.
Where is the data stored?
When TLS-PC 32 is installed, using the original location, it is in
C:\ProgramFiles\Veeder-Root\TLS-PC 32\Data\TLS-PC.mdb
This is a Microsoft Access database file that is compatible with
Version 2.0 or higher. The active file may be moved to a different
location or renamed by using the Windows 95 ODBC Data Source
Administrator in your Control Panel.
How do you archive data?
You cannot archive data in Version 1.
What is the difference between Console
Reports and Database Reports?
Console reports are in text only form that come from the TLS
Console. TLS-PC 32 must be connected to the site to access these
reports. They may be printed only while displayed. Database
Reports can be run at any time. The data must have been collected
and stored in the database previously. The data may be collected
manually or automatically. When the Database Report is being
displayed, it may be printed or Exported to an number of Windows
programs. To access the Export function, click on the Envelope
icon.
Is there a poll history report?
No, there is no polling history in Version 1.
How can I use the Text Data Files?
The data file system is well integrated with other Windows
programs. Some computer programs are better suited to recieve
text only data files. For use with these applications, it may be
desirable to collect data to text files. The format is described in
detail in the Veeder-Root TLS-PC Data Storage Interface Manual,
577013-600.
