Testing the Audio Connection
This test procedure does only apply to
VideoJet
XEA/GEA
or
Vid-
eoJet
XSA/GEA
units with the audio option!
Test between a
VideoJet
XSA/GEA
sender and a
VideoJet
XEA/
GEA
receiver:
l Connect a microphone (via a pre-amplifier) to the Line-In cinch
plug and a loudspeaker to the Line-Out cinch connectors,
respectively, or a handset to the RJ11 plug on both units.
l
Make sure that the correct menu items are set in the Audio
Configuration pages of both systems, i.e. select the appropri-
ate interface (line I/O or handset).
l Switch the coding mode to G.711 or G.728.
l
Select a non zero volume.
l
After establishing the X.21/G.703 leased line connection audio
should be transmitted in both ways.
l Be sure to set the level not too low and to have the right inter-
face selected.
l
In case no audio is audible check the microphone and loud-
speaker together with other audio equipment and make sure
the microphone is switched on if it is equipped with a power
switch.
l Check that the correct audio input and handset have been
selected for both devices on the configuration page.
