8. Troubleshooting

WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury,
unplug the vacuum cleaner before servicing.

PROBLEM: Vacuum cleaner won't run

Cause: 

Not properly plugged into electrical outlet.

Solution: 

Plug unit in firmly.

Cause: 

Cord Extension Connector and Power 
Cord not fully connected or 
unconnected completely.

Solution: 

Firmly push cords together until they are 
fully connected.

Cause: 

Blown fuse or tripped breaker.

Solution: 

Check fuse or breaker in home. Replace fuse /
reset breaker.

Cause: 

Needs service.

Solution: 

Take to service centre 
or call 0870 1129 145.

PROBLEM: Cleaner won’t pick up/loss of suction.

Cause: 

Paper bag not installed correctly.

Solution: 

Review paper bag removal and 
replacement - p6.

Cause: 

Paper bag is full.

Solution: 

Remove/replace paper bag - p6.

Cause: 

Brushroll worn.

Solution: 

Replace brushroll - p8.

Cause: 

Broken or worn belt.

Solution: 

Replace belt - p8.

PROBLEM: Dust escaping from the vacuum cleaner.

Cause: 

Paper bag is full.

Solution: 

Replace paper bag - p6.

Cause: 

Paper bag is not installed correctly.

Solution: 

Review paper bag removal and 
replacement - p6.
