as to get the installation of the burner inspected and approved.
Installation with fire box / conversion of open stove with Burner OF Wide:
Burner OF Wide must only be installed in a fire box or existing open stove which is made of non-
flammable material and has minimum free space dimensions of width 650mm x height 800mm
x depth 550mm. (Figure 4A) A customer-specific or specially made fire box must, in addition,
fulfil the following requirements:
1. The sides and walls must be constructed of non-flammable material(s) such as stainless steel,
minerite, bricks, cement or stone.
2. It must be built with a protective panel that is placed across the chimney opening to prevent
heat from flowing out, or else with a chimney damper that lies in closed position.
3.
Behind:
at least 90 mm safety distance from the burner unit to the back wall (of non-
flammable material).
In front:
at least 90 mm safety distance from the burner unit to the front edge.
Sides:
symmetric placement of the burner in the middle.
4. A safety distance of at least 20 mm behind all the fire box’s sides, which creates an air column
to allow efficient cooling, as well as to avoid direct contact with flammable objects.
Installation without fire box:
(Figure 4B)
Burner OF Wide must be installed in a fixed and secure position before it is put into use – see the
instructions below. The base must be flat and smooth, and made of a non-flammable material
such as stainless steel, minerite, bricks, cement or stone. The fire source must be in a draught-
free place with no risk of curtains or loose objects coming within one metre of the source. The
following minimum safety distances apply for installation without a fire box:
Behind:
min 90 mm between the unit and the back wall (of non-flammable material)
In front:
min 90 mm between the unit and the front edge
Sides:
min 450 mm free space from the unit’s edge, and no flammable material within 1
metre
Above:
min 1650 mm safety distance – do not place any object above the fire source within
this distance. Non-flammable objects can be placed more than 1650 mm above the base.
Base:
Of non-flammable material(s).
3.1.2 Assembly, installation and safety distance Burner CI/CI Wide:
1. Lower the burner module into the matching holder/spill tray. (Figure 5)
2. Place the regulator lid by lowering both of the guide pins into their respective grooves. When
correctly placed, the regulator lid should lie tight against the burner’s surface, and slide
easily when the lid is moved to its respective stop by means of the regulator axle. In the open
position, the lid should be located entirely in front of the burner opening, and in the closed
position it should completely cover the burner opening. (Figure 6)
3. The spill tray must be mounted in a base made of non-flammable material such as stainless
steel, minerite, bricks, cement or stone. The dimensions for the cut-out are width 298 (388 CI
Wide) mm x depth 202mm. (Figure 8A) Vauni recommends that the spill tray’s outer edge is
secured/sealed with heat-resistant silicon.
