Maintenance

the device. Other replacement parts will not only
lead to an invalidation of the warranty, they may
also endanger you and your environment.
Storage and transportation

Always store the device in a dry location.

Always store the device in a frost-free environ-
ment.

Protect the device from becoming damaged dur-
ing transportation.
How to handle gas
Gas is flammable and explosive. Avoid the risk of
explosion and fire:
•
Allow the device to cool down completely before
connecting a new gas tank.
•
Smoking and any other type of naked flame is for-
bidden when using gas.
•
Only store gas tanks outside.
•
Protect gas tanks from direct sunlight.
•
Never use a rusty or dented gas tank or a tank
with a damaged valve.
•
Always use a gas tank standing upright; never
when it is on it’s side.
•
Never attempt to take the gas valve or pressure
regulation device apart (9).
•
Never expose gas hoses to direct sunlight or
allow them to come into contact with hot surfaces.
Device-specific information
•
The protective wall of this device shall prevent the
danger of fire or injury because of combustion and
no part of it may be removed. It does not provide
for safe operation for by small children or seniors.
•
The gas tube may under no circumstances be
kinked and/or twisted because it can be damaged
by the load. Turn the bottle such that gas tube and
pressure regulator points outwards. Ensure that
the gas tube has sufficient space and therefore
features no kinks. The gas tube may not be under
compression and/or tension.
•
The device is not suitable for use in high-rise
blocks and wet rooms (e. g. bathrooms), bed-
rooms, cellars and rooms below ground level. The
device may not be operated in these rooms.
•
When operating, ensure that there is sufficient
ventilation.
•
This heater is intended for the use of temporary
heating If you wish to use it as the permanent
heating source, you need a regulator with inte-
grated manometer to check the sealing safety in
accordance with the regulation.
•
To use the article in an living room, a double stage
regulator and pressure gauge are required.
These devices can be obtained from a special
dealer or from your OBI market.
•
During operation in an living room, observe the
legal regulations for operating an exhaust-free
gas oven.
•
Limitations regarding use in highrise apartments,
wet rooms, rooms under ground level, camping
vehicles, and so on remain in effect.
•
When checking pressure losses with a manome-
ter always check the entire connection line from
the tank through to the device using a leak detec-
tion spray. If pressure loss still occurs even after
the connections are tightened, the device may not
be taken into operation and must be proofed by
service staff.
•
Do not use the device in leisure vehicles (e. g.
mobile homes).
•
The device may only be operated in well venti-
lated rooms.
•
Observe the local regulations when using the
device in buildings with public access.
•
Never use the gas heater in hollows in which
leaked gas may collect.
•
Safe operation of the gas heater is only ensured
when it is set up on a solid, even surface capable
of carrying the load.
•
Check all gas connections for correct sealing.
Check the gas hose for tears or damage before
each use. If necessary, replace.
•
In the event of problems with functionality switch
off at the gas tank immediately and wait until the
fire has gone out.
•
A gas heater may never be put out using water.
•
Keep the gas hose away from heated surfaces.
•
During operation, never leave the gas heater
unattended. Risk of injury and fire!
•
Children and animals may not be allowed in the
vicinity of the gas heater unless supervised. Be
particularly careful when igniting!
•
The unit may not be covered. This causes a risk
of fire.
•
Keep a safe distance of 3 m to flammable materi-
als.
•
This gas heater becomes very hot and may not be
moved when in use.
•
Only clean the gas heater when the unit has
cooled down completely.
•
Connect the device only in accordance with the
applicable installation regulations.
