5.3.4 Removing the Preamplifier
CAUTION
The preamplifier is a static sensitive device. Wear a grounding
device while the preamplifier is being handled.
1. Remove the 4 slotted screws that hold the preamplifier header piece, repeating steps 1
and 2 in “Removing the Ion Source” .
2. Carefully remove the preamplifier

from the spectrometer tube body (Figure 5-13) and
place it carefully on a clean, safe, non-magnetic surface.
