CORRECT USE OF THE PRODUCT
This appliance is intended for home use as a
steam cleaner as described and in accordan-
ce with the instructions provided in this ma-
nual. Please read these instructions carefully
and keep them. If this manual is lost, it can be
consulted and/or downloaded from the web-
site www.polti.com.
Correct use of the product is only as detailed in
this instruction manual. Any other use may da-
mage the appliance and invalidate the war-
ranty.
INFORMATION FOR USERS
Pursuant to European Directive 2012/19/EU,
regarding electric and electronic appliances,
this appliance must not be disposed of with
domestic waste, but sent to an official collec-
tion facility. This appliance complies with EU
Directive 2011/65/EU.
The crossed-out bin symbol on the
appliance indicates that, at the end
of its useful lifespan, the product
must be disposed of separately from
other waste. Therefore, at the end of its life,
the user must handover the appliance to an
appropriate collection centre for electric and
electronic waste. Proper separate waste col-
lection to facilitate the subsequent recycling,
treatment and environmentally compatible
disposal of the appliance helps to prevent ne-
gative effects on the environment and human
health, and promotes recycling of the mate-
rials the product is made of. Unlawful dispo-
sal by the owner involves the application of
the administrative sanctions envisaged by
current legislation.
Before leaving our factory all our products
are rigorously tested. This is the reason why
your VAPORETTO may contain some residual
water in the boiler.
WHICH WATER TO USE
This appliance has been designed to function
with normal medium-hardness tap water
between 8°F and 20°f. If the tap water con-
tains a lot of calcium carbonate, do not use
demineralised pure water, but use a mix com-
posed of 50% tap water and 50% deminerali-
sed water available on the market.
Warning: check the hardness of the water at
the technical office at your local council or
the local water supplier.
If you only use tap water, you can reduce the
formation of limescale by using the special
Kalstop FP2003 decalcifying product, distri-
buted by Polti, and available for sale at all
major domestic-appliance stores or online at
www.polti.com.
Never use distilled water, rain water or water
containing additives (e.g. starch, perfumes),
or water produced by other domestic ap-
pliances.
Do not put in chemical, natural, detergent, or
limescale removing substances, etc.
1. PREPARATION FOR USE
1.1 Unscrew the safety cap (1).
1.2 Fill the boiler with up to 200 ml of water,
using the jug (2).
1.3 Carefully screw the safety cap back on,
checking that it is completely closed (3).
This operation must always be carried out
when the boiler has cooled and with the
power cable disconnected from the mains.

Only for Vaporetto Diffusion
it’s possible
to combine steam with FrescoVapor, a natu-
ral deodorant which, in addition to releasing a
pleasant fragrance, eliminates bad odours.
Please refer to the instructions given in chap-
ter 7 for how to use FrescoVapor products.
1.5 Connect the cable plug to an earthed
power supply of the correct voltage (8).
1.6 The “Steam Ready” lamp will turn on. Wait
for the steam ready indicator lamp to go out
(approx. 5 minutes). The appliance is ready
for use.
2. CONNECTION OF ACCESSORIES
2.1 FLEX (only for model Vaporetto Diffusion)
• To join the flex to the appliance, bring the
arrow on the flex into line with the single
notch on the appliance and then rotate the
flex body in the direction of the arrow, until
it clicks into place (12).
• To release the flex, pull the little lever
above it and rotate in the opposite direc-
tion from before (13).
• In turn, the lance can be connected to the
flex and therefore all other accessories sup-
plied.
It is a good idea to check that the boiler is
empty before filling it.
WARNING: never exceed the maximum boi-
ler fill level of 200 ml; always use the jug
supplied.
WARNING: if steam is escaping from the sa-
fety cap, switch the appliance off and unplug
it from the mains. Wait for two hour for the
appliance to cool before unscrewing the cap
and screwing it back on.
