4.3 Abnormal Operating Procedures
4.3.1 Descriptions of Abnormal Operating
Procedures
4.3.1.1 Flap System Failure
•
A flap system failure can either be caused by a
problem in the electrical supply or a mechanical
problem with the gear, electric motor and clutch
system.
•
Should the problem stem from the flap switch
wiring, the flap motor can then be directly accessed
through the VP200 display unit.
•
A zero flaps landing and approach is easily flyable
using the same approach speeds, but at a higher
deck angle and with a flatter approach path.
4.3.1.2 Runaway Trim
•
The airplane is fully controllable for a landing in all
extreme runaway trim scenarios. Airspeed needs to
be more closely monitored however.
•
Consider reducing speed for lower stick forces.
•
The VP200 also offers a direct interface to the trim
motors via the display unit, should a problem be
caused by control stick wiring.
4.3.1.3 Autopilot Out of Command
•
Disconnect the autopilot either via the CWS button
on the stick or the Autopilot unit in the panel.
•
The autopilot system can be manually overpowered
and the servos also have shear links that are
designed to break.
