4.3 BREAK-IN
Although there are no operational restrictions on the
Mixer
when it is used for the first time, it is recom-
mended that the following mechanical items be
checked:
A.
After operating for I hour
1.
Check the alignment of the pulleys. Align as
required.
2.
Check the tension of the belts. Tension as
required.
3.
Retorque all fasteners and hardware.
B.
After operating for 10 hours
1.
Check the alignment of pulleys and tension of
belts. Align and tension as required.
2.
Retorque all fasteners and hardware.
3.
Go to the normal servicing and maintenance
schedule as defined in the Maintenance Section.

PRE-OPERATION CHECK
LIST
Efficient and safe operation of the Valmetal
Stationnary Vertical Mixer requires that each operator
reads and understands the operating procedures and
all related safety precautions outlined in this section.
A pre-operation checklist is provided for the operator.
It is important to follow this checklist in order to ensure
personal safety and the good mechanical condition of
the machine.
Before operating the Mixer and each time thereafter,
the following areas should be checked off:
1. Lubricate the machine per the schedule outlined
in the Maintenance Section.
2. Check for entangled material in any components.
3. Check that all electrical wires and connections
are in good condition and tight.
4. Make sure that the mixer is sitting level and that
the electronic scale is calibrated.
5. Check the tension and alignment of v-belts.
Adjust as required.
6. Make sure all guards and shields are in place,
secured and functioning as designed.
