13.2 Commissioning
An SMGM/X system will be installed and connected. As soon as the SMGM-SI and SMGM-DI (or BCC/SMGM)
components are supplied with 24 VDC and the system cabling including the coupler is connected, communi-
cation is possible without further parameter settings and configurations.

Information about commissioning
The system is only ready for use if all technical parameters (level, line lengths, number
of couplers, number of devices, etc.) have been taken into account when planning and
installing the system. Otherwise it can lead to malfunctions, disturbances and inter-
ruptions in communication.
The LED status displays at the SMGM modules help during commissioning.
If problems arise during commissioning, the points listed below must be checked.
