Safety precautions
Dangers
n
The appliance must not be used by children or persons not instructed in
the use of the appliance.
n
The appliance is dangerous to children. Keep children away from the
appliance. Switch off the appliance when unattended.
n
Keep packaging material out of the reach of children.
n
Do not point the steam-/hot water nozzle at yourself or others (dan-
ger of scalding).
n
Do not insert any objects into the openings of the appliance
(Danger! High voltage!).
n
If accessible, do not touch the plug with wet hands or pull it out of the mains
socket by the cable.
n
Caution: you may scald yourself if you come into contact with hot water,
steam or the nozzle.
n
Do not remove the drip tray during preparation, otherwise you may
scald yourself with hot drinks.
Defects
n
Do not use the appliance if it is faulty or faults are suspected, e.g. if the
appliance has been dropped.
n
Any repairs should only be carried out by Customer Services or autho-
rised and qualified persons.
n
Do not use the appliance if the mains cable is defective. Have the mains
cable replaced only by Customer Services (Danger! High voltage!).
n
Switch off the appliance before opening the service door. Danger of scal-
ding!
Cleaning/

If possible, disconnect the plug from the mains and allow the appli-

Do not spray the appliance down with water.
n
Do not dry any part of the appliance in the oven or microwave.
Before prolonged
n
Empty the water tank and coffee bean hopper.

Empty and clean the drip tray and dregdrawer.

Switch off the appliance.
Spare parts
n
In the interests of safety, use only original spares and accessories.
Fire
n
In the event of fire, use only carbon dioxide (CO2) to extinguish flames.
