*Actual hardware may
differ from illustration.
Your bulb should last up to 10,000 hours in normal use. When bulb
replacement is necessary, you must replace the bulb with a
CF13W
self-ballasted GU24 base squat-type fluorescent bulb
. These bulbs
are commonly available at your local home center and most larger
hardware stores.

FIXTURE INSTALLATION
WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS
WARNING
• Shut off power at the circuit breaker or fuse panel before removing the
old fixture.
CAUTION
•
DO NOT USE THIS FIXTURE WITH A DIMMING CIRCUIT.
If you
presently have dimmer controls, you will need to remove them, and
replace them with regular electrical switches. If you have a three way
dimmer, you will have to replace it with a regular three way switch. If you
are unfamiliar with electrical installations, we recommend you have a
qualified electrician do your installation.
IMPORTANT:
A fluorescent bulb is included with your Utilitech™ fixture and
may have a protective paper support collar slipped over the bulb. Do
NOT
operate your fixture with this support collar in place. Remove bulb and
discard the support collar prior to installation.

Screw the machine screws
(D)
into the
electrical box until there is about 3/8 in.
between the ceiling and the underside
of the screw head (
Fig. 1
).
Connect the supply leads from the electrical
box to the fixture wire leads using the
included wire nuts
(E)
(
Fig. 2
). The black
lead from the fixture goes to the black supply
lead, and the white lead from the fixture goes
to the white supply lead. Secure the wire
nuts
(E)
. Tape the wire nuts
(E)
to the wire
using electrical tape. Push the excess wires
back inside the electrical box (
Fig. 3
).
Locate the key hole slots on the pan
(A)
that
match your electrical box. Position the fixture
pan
(A)
over the electrical box so that the
machine screws
(E)
protruding from the
electrical box pass through the elongated
keyholes in the fixture's pan
(A)
(
Fig. 4
).
Once both screws are through the keyholes,
twist the pan
(A)
clockwise until both screws
are up against the smaller end of the slot.
Hold in place and tighten the screws until the
fixture pan has been secured the electrical
box.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!
Insert the GU24 base 13W compact
fluorescent bulb
(C)
into the socket (
Fig. 5
).
Hold the bulb by its base, insert the pins into
the 2 curved slots in the bulb socket, and
twist clockwise until the bulb locks into
place. The bulb can only go into the socket
one way. Do
NOT
force the bulb.
CAUTION:
DO NOT HOLD THE BULB BY THE GLASS
DURING INSERTION OR REMOVAL TO
PREVENT ACCIDENTAL BREAKAGE!
HOLD THE BULB BY THE PLASTIC BASE.

To attach the diffuser
(B)
you need to align
the locking tabs (outside of pan) with the
open end of the locking groove on the
diffuser. Push the diffuser up, apply sufficient
pressure to it and rotate it clockwise until it
screws in securely to the pan (
Fig. 6
). This
will take less than a 1/4 turn. Restore power
to the electrical box to make sure your
fixture is working properly.

Remove the old bulb by grasping it firmly at
the plastic base and firmly twist
counterclockwise (
Fig. 2
). Pull straight
down. Be careful not to drop the bulb.
While holding the diffuser in the palm of
your hand(s), rotate it counterclockwise
until it unscrews from the pan (
Fig. 1
). This
will take less than 1/4 turn.
Shut off power supply. Allow sufficient time
for bulbs to cool properly before handling.
With power disconnected to your electrical box, remove the old
fixture. If your old fixture is attached to an electrical box having
more than two (2) wire leads, we suggest you use tape and
markings to keep track of which wires were attached to each other.
