When the battery needs replacing, the following will appear on the screen:
Please open the back board of scales, then take battery carefully out of the battery com-
partment by drawing it sideways out from under the contacts, do not bend the contacts
back while you do this or they might break. Dispose of the old battery at the appropriate
collection points.
