7.2 Swiping ATB Magnetic Coupons
The Unit’s swipe reader option accepts full size ATB coupons, the ATB flight coupon section, the ATB boarding pass
stub, and Wallet type coupons. The coupon is swiped through the reader as shown below.
Coupons may be swiped forward or backwards through the reader as long as the magnetic strip always faces directly
towards the face of the magnetic head. The coupon symbol on top of the reader indicates proper coupon orientation.
The Unit reads and transmits the magnetic data from ATB or Boarding Pass coupons and then waits for the host to
respond, just as a mechanized magnetic BGR reader processes ATB coupons and boarding passes.
If magnetic data is detected by the reader but cannot be processed properly, the Unit will provide an audible and visible
indication of the appropriate error condition such as missing PECTAB.
