Using the answering machine

Turning the answering machine on and off

Check the LED display to see if the answering machine is on or off.  If the LED display
is on, the unit is on and ready to take messages.  If the LED display is off, it will not take
messages.

In the

(toll saver) position, if you

have new messages, the answering
system answers after two rings. If
there are no new messages, the
system answers after four rings.
This way, when you call long dis-
tance to check your messages, and
have no messages, you can hang up
after the second ring to save a
charge.

Choose one of three settings by sliding the 

RING TIME

switch on the base unit to

one of the following positions:
