SNMP
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is an Internet standard protocol used for monitoring
and managing the status of devices connected to IP networks.
Three versions of SNMP have been developed, namely, SNMPv1, SNMPv2c and SNMPv3, with
newest version featuring improvements in performance, flexibility and security.
When SNMP is “On”, upon request of SNMP server, network
-attached devices expose their status to
SNMP server which activates remote modifications if necessary.
