12 TROUBLESHOOTING
FAULT
POSSIBLE CAUSE REMEDY
1 PUMP DOESN’T DELIVER,
MOTOR DOESN’T START a. No voltage
b. Plug not properly inserted
c. Circuit braker switch intervened
d. Impeller blocked
e. Motor or capacitor damaged
f. The float switch does not allow starting
a. Check the connection
b. Check for power in mains and insert
correctly the plug
c. Switch on the magnetothermal
d. Make sure impeller rotates freely
e. Contact the supplier
f. Check the liquid level and verify that
the float moves freely eventually
contact the supplier to replace it
2 PUMP DOESN’T DELIVER,
MOTOR IS RUNNING
a. Grid or suction’s hole obstricted
b. Water level below minimum suction level
a. Clean it
b. Regulate the strecht of cable
between the floatand and the cable
block point
3 PUMP DELIVER A LOWER
FLOW RESPECT THAT
DECLARATED ON THE
DATA CURVES a. Grid or suction filter obstricted
b. Delivery pipe partly obstricted
c. Impeller worn
d. The rotation direction is wrong (only on
tree-phase versions)
a. Clean it
b. Remove the eventually obstructions
c. Contact the supplier to replace it
d. Check the sense of rotation and
eventually invert it.
4 PUMP DOESN’T STOP a. The supply switch is defective
b. The float switch is defective
a. Replace it
b. Contact the supplier to replace it
5 INTERMITTENT
OPERATION a. The pump is partly blocked by impurities
that blocked the impeller
b. Temperature or density of liquid to be
pumped too high
c. Motor defective
a. Remove the eventually impurities on
hydraulic part
b. Check the condition of the liquid to
be pumped.
c. Contact the supplier to replace it.
6 THE OVERLOAD
PROTECTION DEVICE
STOP THE PUMP a. The motori is overheating
b. The pump is mechanically blocked
a. Verify the possible reasons that
bring the motor to hight
temperature and remove it
b. Checking for the occurrence of
rubbing between moving and fixed
parts, check the state of mechanical
seal and bearings
