6. If you are using a PC computer and none of the solutions above solve your problem, follow the
instructions below to delete and then reinstall VistaScan.
a.
To close all open programs except Explorer and Systray, press the Ctrl, Alt, and Delete keys at
the same time. The Close Program window appears. Highlight a program other than Explorer
and Systray (NOTE: some systems do not use Systray) with a single mouse click and click the
End Task button. Repeat for all programs except Explorer and Systray.
b.
Click on the
Start
bar. Click on the
Settings
option. When the Settings pop-up menu appears,
click the
Control Panel
option. The Control Panel window appears. Double-click the
Add/Remove Programs
option. Select UMAX VistaScan and then click the
Add/Remove
button to remove the program files.
c.
Click on the
Start
bar, choose
Programs
and select
Windows Explorer
. Using Windows
Explorer, locate and delete the VistaScan and/or Umax folder from the C: drive.
d.
Locate and delete all Twain.dll files inside the Windows folder (i.e. Twain.dll, Twain32.dll, and
Twain 32.dll).
e.
Right click on Recycle Bin icon from the All Folders side (left side) of the Windows Explorer
window. The Recycle pop-up menu appears. Choose the Empty Recycle Bin option to complete
the software removal process.
f.
Insert the UMAX CD-ROM and reinstall the software.
7. If you are using a Macintosh computer, follow the instructions below to delete and reinstall VistaScan.
a.
Drag the VistaScan folder and all other references to VistaScan to the Trash.
b.
Empty the Trash to complete the software removal process.
c.
Drag the VistaScan folder off the VistaScan CD onto your desktop.
d.
Restart you Macintosh holding down the shift keys to be sure that the extensions are turned off
when your restart your system.
e.
Click on the VistaScan folder.
f.
Double-click the VistaScan Installer icon to reinstall the software.
g.
After the installation is complete, restart your Macintosh.
