2.3.2 Stepper Motor Operation
To actuate a Stepper motorised drive it should be connected to an appropriate stepper motor
controller. All mating connectors are supplied to enable fabrication of custom connection cables.
Alternatively a complete solution and all relevant cabling are available from UHV Design.
Homing

Best Practice.
If using a home sensor option then there are some rules that should be followed to
ensure precise and consistent homing or datuming.
Always approach the home sensor from the same direction
If approaching the home at high speed with a high load then the inertia may cause the
sensor to overrun. Best practice is to find the home, then drive off in the opposite
direction, and then creep back to the home sensor at a low speed. This will ensure a more
precise datum capture.
2.3.3 Adjusting limit switches and home position
The sweep of the limit switches is fully adjustable on the MD40 range. To adjust the sweep of the
switches please see instructions below.
