The user steps through the available options by pressing Next option and then selects the
required option by pressing Select this .
4.2.4 Turning the instrument OFF
PAM may be turned OFF from most display screens by pressing the ON/OFF button. To
conserve battery life, PAM will switch itself OFF automatically when a preset number of
minutes have passed without any of the soft buttons being pressed. This time may be set
by the user (through the Configure menu) to any value from 2 up to 29 minutes or never .
The factory default setting is never .
PAM will also switch itself OFF automatically if the battery voltage falls below a critical level.
4.3 Main Menu
The Main Menu is the first menu which appears when PAM is switched ON.
Pressing Measure leads to the menu of options relating to making measurements and
transferring collected data to the PC. Pressing Configure allows the user to adjust a
number of parameters to suit particular measurement requirements and includes an option
to restore the factory default values of these parameters.
4.4 Measure Menu
When Measure is selected from the Main Menu , depending on the particular type of
transducer plugged in screen appears which is similar to this one:
