CHECKS THAT WILL SAVE YOU CALLING THE TECHNICAL SERVICES.
The operations described below will help you to solve minor problems and save you calling the Technical Service Centre.
If, after having carried out these checks, the problem persists or reoccurs, then get in touch with our specialist technicians.
What to do if …
…the appliance does not work
- Make sure that it is plugged in.
- Check that the function selector is not in the off (
) position.
- Check to see that there is power on the mains supply or if a fuse has tripped.
- Set the thermostat to a lower temperature.
... the appliance does not work and the safety light is on.
- Check the state of the flexible tube. It must not be flattened or trapped.
- The difference in height between the outdoor and indoor units must never be more than 1.5 m.
... the appliance works for a while and then switches itself off.
- Check that the air inlets and outlets on the appliance are free of obstructions.
- Whenever the outdoor temperature is greater than 43ºC, the appliance will automatically switch itself off for a short
period, after which it will come back on. Whenever the room temperature drops below 21ºC and the outdoor
temperature is less than 22ºC the appliance will switch itself off for a while to stop frost from forming or building up
on the evaporator.
- Check that the flexible pipe is connected correctly.
... the appliance does not cool the air sufficiently.
- Make sure that the door or window is opened as little as possible. This is particularly important if the flexible pipe has
been set up to allow the window or door to be left open.
- Check the state of the flexible tube. It must not be flattened or trapped.
... the appliance makes a lot of noise
- Check that the air inlets and outlets on the appliance are free of obstructions.
- If your can hear water running then this is due to the pump operating as it is taking the condensed water outdoors.
... the appliance is switched on but the compressor is not working
- The ambient temperature must be above 20°C for the appliance to operate in cooling mode.
... water is dripping from the outdoor unit
- Make sure that the outdoor unit is in an upright position
- Check to see if the drain plug is fitted securely.
