CONTROLS

SAFETY FLAP

It may be necessary to use foot to assist in tilting 

back loaded powered stair climber. Use swing arm, 

main wheel or lower portion of drive unit. Safety flap 

prevents foot from getting jammed under swing arm by 

automatically ceasing all operation when depressed. 

To resume use, release safety flap and press  

round-up switch. (See Figure 1)

CAUTION! Only turn main battery switch on 
after tilting the load.

MAIN SWITCH

Main switch is located on battery cover and is used to 

turn power supply on and off. (See Figure 2)

Power can be shut off by doing one of the following:

•  Turning main switch off on battery unit.

•  Removing battery. 

•  Pressing ascend/descend button for three seconds 

or longer. 

NOTE: Power shuts off automatically after  

10 minutes of non-use.

   

CONTROL BOX

INDICATOR LIGHT

• 

Constant Green:

 Unit is in ascend mode and 

round-up switch in upper handle is active. Lifting 

mechanism operates when round-up switch is 

depressed and stops when released. (See Figure 3)

• 

Flashing Green:

 Unit is in descend mode and  

round-up switch is inactive.

• 

Constant Red:

 Unit is in descend mode and support 

wheels move quickly to descend position.

• 

Flashing Red:

 Unit is overloaded and indicator light 

will flash for three seconds and shut off.

• 

Alternating Flashing Green/Red:

 Battery charge is 

low.

SPEED SWITCH

In ascend mode, choose  

speed (See Figure 4): 

•  Low speed – one line

•  High speed – two lines

NOTE: Low speed is advisable for training, 

heavy loads and awkward locations. 

In descend mode, speed is set and cannot be adjusted. 

ASCEND/DESCEND BUTTON

•  Briefly press to switch unit to ascend or descend 

mode. (See Figure 3)

NOTE: Unit will switch off if button is pressed for 

three seconds or longer.
