1. Populate DIMMs in groups of two, one per channel (2, 4 DIMMs/CPU).
• Partial population will lead to memory performance degradation.
2. Populate the same amount of memory on each CPU in the system.
3. Populate the same DIMM type in each channel. Specifically:
• Use the same DIMM size.
• Use the same # of ranks per DIMM.
4. Use the highest frequency supported per configuration. (Check Table-1 for details)
5. Additional recommendations:
• Dual-rank DIMMs are recommended over single-rank DIMMs.
• Unbuffered DIMMs can offer slightly better performance than registered DIMMs if
populating only a single DIMM per channel.
