How to Read Resistor Types and 

Values

  Every project uses different types of resistors and capacitors. The diagrams below will assist
you in locating and identifying values, tolerances and ratings for the various circuit 
requirements for your projects.

Resistor Power Ratings

   Not only are resistors graded by their values but also by their power ratings. Power ratings 
are determined by how much heat (power) can be safely dissipated by the resistor. Higher 
ratings are usually indicated by larger sizes.

   Below are photos and descriptions of various resistors that could be used in your project.
