Statement of Procedure:

DRX Device Options

Here we describe how to navigate the options found on the device through the touch screen interface that
are of interest when in the field.

1. Starting the unit:

1. Before connecting the DRX Device to any peripherals or power, connect the auto-zero unit by removing the

inlet cap on the DRX and placing it on top of the inlet. Connect the power cord of the auto-zero unit to the

connector at the back of the DRX unit.

2. Attach the power source to the right side of the DRX device and the device will turn on automatically. Or, if

you are running it on batteries only, turn it on by pressing the ON button.

2. Setup:

1. Once the DRX unit has booted up it will display the main screen. This is the screen that will also show when

the unit is actively performing measurements in what is called a RunMode.

2. First, will make sure that all the basics are setup correctly. Go into SETUP.

a. Within the SETUP screen you are shown summary statistics about the instrument including its

serial number, firmware version, pump and dust measurement details, and how long the filter

has been in the device.

3. Along the left side there are six additional menu options: Zero Cal, Flow Cal, User Cal, Alarm, Analog, and

Settings.

4. The most important of these are Zero Cal and Settings. However, the options within Settings are more easily

modified through a PC using the TrakPro software, which will be covered in the next section.

5. Go into the Zero Cal option be selecting it. This is where one can manually zero the instrument at any time

when the device is not actively recording either with the auto-zero module attached or using the zero filter.

This takes 60 seconds and care should be taken not to bump the unit during this operation.

The manual Zero Cal should be run every time after you download data

6. After this is completed return to the main screen by selecting Main. If you have used a zero filter be sure to

remove it and reattach the tubing to the inlet assembly.

3.

Downloading/Deleting Data

1. As mentioned above you can download data directly from the DRX device through the USB Host port on the

left side of the DRX device by inserting a USB thumb drive into it.

2. Once you have inserted a thumbdrive/USB drive into the port select the “Data” option from the Main screen.

3. Here you will see a table of the data files collected by the DRX device. There are three options on this screen:

“Save All”, “Delete”, and “Delete All”.

4. By selecting “Save All” it will send all of the files to the thumbdrive and save them as a comma separated file

with very basic header system and time/date stamp. This should only be used as a last resort if you can’t

download the files through the TrakPro software.

5. The other option that is useful here is “Delete All”, which is used from the device when starting a new

project after confirmation that all of the data has been downloaded.
