5 TCP/IP 

Setup 

In most cases The TCP/IP setting will be set at “

Obtain an IP address 

automatically

” in some situations you will need to set the IP address manually. 

5.1 Windows 

98/ME 

To change the IP settings please follow: 
1.  

Click Start then select Settings and then choose Control Panel. 

2.  

Double click the Network icon. 

3.  

Select the Configuration tab. 

4.  

Locate the “TCP/IP” option for your network adapter and double click it. 

5.  

Select the “Use the following IP address” option. 

6.  

Now enter your new IP address, Subnet mask and Default gateway values. 

7.  

Close all the Windows. 

8.  

Restart your PC.  

 

5.2 Windows 

2000/XP 

To change the IP settings please follow: 
1.  

Click Start then select Settings and then choose Control Panel.

Right click the” Local Area Connection” icon and select properties. 

4.  

Locate the “TCP/IP” option for your network adapter and double click it. 

5.  

Select the “Use the following IP address” option.

Now enter your new IP address, Subnet mask and Default gateway values. 

7.  

Close all the Windows. 

8.  

Restart your PC.
