Battery charging
Warning!

Do not attempt to recharge a non-
rechargeable battery.

When recharging a battery, ensure that
there is adequate ventilation to allow gases
to disperse.
Regular recharging of the battery is essential.
Use a suitably rated battery charger and refer to
the battery manufacturer’s recommendations.
Run time extension
To maximise the duration before the unit
automatically switches off, the unit decreases the
pulse speed according to the battery charge
level:

A pulse every 2.5 seconds
Building an electric fence
Note:
This product has been designed for use
with electric animal fences.

Installing and testing a
ground system
Select a suitable site for the ground system. Sites
need to be at least 33’ (10 m) from other ground
systems (e.g. telephone, mains/line power or the
ground system of another unit).
Drive 6’ (2 m) ground rods into the soil. The
table below specifies the minimum number of 6’
(2 m) ground rods recommended for a ground
system:

Safety considerations

Do not connect to mains-operated or line-
operated equipment.

Switch the unit off before installation or
performing any work on the fence.

complies with all local safety regulations.

The unit must be located in a shelter, and
the cable must not be handled when the
temperature is below 5 °C.

Do not connect simultaneously to a fence
and to any other device such as a cattle
trainer or a poultry trainer. Otherwise,
lightning striking your fence will be
conducted to all other devices.
