ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE BATTERY DISPOSAL

To avoid injury and risk of fi re, explosion, or electric shock, and to avoid damage to the environment:
• 

DO NOT

 attempt to remove or destroy any of the battery components.

 attempt to open the battery. 

• 

DO NOT

 place these batteries in your regular household trash. 

• 

DO NOT

 incinerate.

• 

DO NOT

 place them where they will become part of any waste landfi ll or municipal solid waste stream.

•  Cover the battery’s terminals with heavy-duty adhesive tape. 
•  If a leak develops, the released electrolytes are corrosive and toxic. DO NOT get the solution in 

the eyes or on skin, and do not swallow it.

•  Dispose of the battery pack in accordance with local state and federal regulations.

Removing the Battery

1.  Press the latch button on the battery down and hold (Fig. 5).
2.  Grasp the handle fi rmly and pull the battery out of the handle cavity.

NOTE: 

The battery fi ts into the handle cavity snugly in order to prevent accidental dislodging. It 

may require a strong pull to remove it.

IMPORTANT! 

The battery is equipped with an internal circuit breaker that will automatically shut off 

power to the unit if the battery is overloaded during heavy use. Once cooled, the battery will 
reset itself. Follow these steps if an overload occurs:

1.  Set the switch to the OFF position and then restart the unit. Refer to 

Starting and Stopping

2.  The battery may need to be removed for approximately 1 minute, allowed to cool and then 

reinstalled.

WALL-MOUNTABLE

The battery charger features a key-hole hanging feature for convenient storage. Screws should be 
installed so that the center distance is 3 5/32” (8 cm). Use proper wall fasteners to accommodate the 
combined weight of the battery charger and the battery (approximately 3.5 lb [1.6 kg])

CORD WRAP

The battery charger is equipped with a cord wrap that is located at the rear of the unit (Fig. 2). Use 
this feature to minimize workspace clutter and hazards.

CAUTION:

 When the battery is not installed in the unit, keep it away from paper 

clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other metal objects that could make a connection 
from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause sparks, 
burns or a fi re.

STARTING THE MOTOR

The blower is equipped with a two-speed switch. 
1.  Fit the battery into the handle cavity (Fig. 5). Refer 

to

2.  Press the switch to either the HIGH or LOW position 

(Fig. 6).

STOPPING THE MOTOR

1.  Press the switch to the OFF position (Fig. 6).

PROPER GRIP ON HANDLE

•  Always maintain a proper grip on the handle whenever the motor is running. The fi ngers should 

encircle the handle and the thumb should wrap under the handle. 

PROPER STANCE

•  Balance body weight securely, with both feet on solid ground.

WORK AREA PRECAUTIONS

•  Keep everyone – helpers, bystanders, children and animals – at least 50 feet (15 m) away from the 

work area. If anyone enters the work area, stop the unit!

•  Only operate the unit when visibility and light are adequate to see clearly.
•  Use rakes and brooms to loosen debris before operating the unit.
•  Remove stones, nails, glass and wire from the area before operating the unit.
•  Take care when operating the unit near windows and vehicles. 
•  To reduce noise levels, operate the unit at the lowest speed needed to do the job.
•  Only operate the unit during reasonable hours. Comply with times listed in local ordinances.

BASIC OPERATING PROCEDURES

2.  Hold the blower with the nozzle several inches 

above the fl oor or ground (Fig. 7).

3.  Sweep the nozzle from side to side while slowly 

advancing, directing the accumulated pile of debris 
ahead of the operator.

4.  Dispose of debris appropriately.

WARNING:

 Do not allow familiarity with this unit to promote carelessness. 

Remember that a careless fraction of a second is enough to infl ict serious injury.

WARNING:

 If any parts are damaged or missing, do not operate the unit until the 

parts are replaced. Failure to heed this warning could result in serious personal injury.

WARNING:

 Always wear appropriate eye and ear protection when operating this 

unit. Wear safety goggles, or safety glasses with side shields, that are marked as 
meeting ANSI Z87.1-1989 standards. Failure to do so could result in serious eye injury 
caused by thrown objects. If the operation is dusty, wear a facemask or dust mask. 

WARNING:

 Wear non-slip gloves for maximum grip and protection. Refer to the 

Safety Information

 section for appropriate safety equipment.

WARNING:

 Do not expose the unit to rain. Do not use the unit in damp or wet 

locations or conditions.

CLEARING A BLOCKED BLOWER TUBE OR NOZZLE

1.  Stop the motor and remove the battery from the unit. Refer to 

Removing the Battery

 in the 

Assembly Instructions

 section.

2.  Disconnect the blower tube from the blower and the nozzle from the blower tube.
3.  Use a fi rm-bristled, non-wire, brush to clear the blower tube, nozzle and blower opening of all debris. 
4.  Once clear of obstructions, re-assemble the unit. Refer to 

Assembly Instructions

.

NOTE: 

If it is necessary to replace damaged or missing parts, use only manufacturer suggested 

replacement parts. The use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage 
and will VOID the warranty.

BATTERY CHARGER MAINTENANCE

•  To ensure safety and reliability, all repairs should be performed by a qualifi ed service technician.
•  Keep the charger clean and clear of debris. Do not allow foreign material into the recessed cavity 

or on the contacts.

•  Always unplug the charger when not in use.
•  Check that the charger contacts have not been shorted by debris or foreign material. 

WARNING:

 Before inspecting, cleaning or servicing the unit, stop the motor, wait for 

all moving parts to stop and remove the battery. Failure to follow these instructions can 
result in serious personal injury or property damage.

CLEANING AND STORAGE

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

•  Remove the battery from the unit.
• 

Use a fi rm-bristled, non-wire, brush to remove debris from the air openings, blower tube and nozzle. 

•  Wipe the unit down with a damp cloth. Do not douse the unit with water. Do not use solvents or 

strong detergents. 

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS

•  Store the unit in a dry, high and/or locked location, out of the reach of children and other 

unauthorized persons.

•  Give the battery a full charge before placing it in storage.
•  Keep the charger and battery pack in an area that is between 65 and 75˚ F (18 and 24˚ C). When it 

is fully charged, the battery can be stored in temperatures as low as 23 °F (–5 °C) for a period of 
up to two weeks before it requires recharging.

WARNING:

 Do not let brake fl uids, gasoline, petroleum-based products, penetrating 

oils, etc., come in contact with plastic parts. These chemicals may damage, weaken 
and destroy plastic, which may result in serious personal injury.
