Troubleshooting
Most troubleshooting problems are easy to resolve. Review the
troubleshooting chart below for answers to common problems.
For more complicated repairs, you may want to rely on your retailer or
an authorized repair center (contact your retailer for a list of authorized
mechanics in your area).
PROBLEM
SOLUTION
Engine will not start.
•
Flip ON/OFF Switch to ON.
• Make sure spark plug wire is securely attached.
• Check fuel and add fuel mixture.
• Clean spark plug, set spark plug gap, or replace as needed.
Engine runs rough or floods during operation.
• Clean or replace air filter.
• Turn CHOKE completely OFF.
• Unclog/clean fuel filter.
Engine is hard to start.
• Replace old fuel with fresh fuel mixture.
• Check spark plug and wire, replace as needed.
• Clean carburetor and add gas stabilizer.
Auger turns when idling.
• Adjust to lower idle speed.
• Clutch spring may be broken, replace as needed.
Auger Turns, but there is no power.
• Turn CHOKE OFF.
• Replace clutch shoes and springs.
• Contact an authorized maintenance center.
Auger blades jump on ice.
• Sharpen or replace auger blades.
Auger blades turn slowly on ice.
• Sharpen or replace point.
• Replace blades.
