Advice on Application of Electrodes
Make sure, that the Dolito is switched off (no display visible on the LCD-
Display).
Connect the single poled ends of the lead wires to the electrodes.
The output sockets of the electrode cables will be plugged into the channels A
or B of the Dolito.
Furthermore make sure, that all plugs fit completely into the electrode sockets
as well as the device sockets.
Thereafter place the electrodes onto the skin. An adhesive skin gel has been
applied to the electrodes, which can be re-used after removal from the skin. In
the case of the skin gel loosing its adhesion and you can’t achieve more than
6 mA - please replace the electrodes. The same effect, however, also occurs
when using a damaged cable. Therefore, if normal treatment is not possible by
using new electrodes, the cable maybe faulty.
Electrodes which are damaged due to careless handling may not be used.
Electrodes with damaged cable insulation (e.g. visible copper wire) may not be
used.
Electrodes with damaged, missing or stained aluminium coating or carbon layer,
also with insufficient adhesive gel may not be used.
Electrodes may not be altered or tampered with (e.g. by scissors or other
tools).
Do not pull the electrodes by force on the electrode cable. To remove the elec-
trodes from the skin, please lift the electrode at the rim towards the middle.
Do not use electrodes with ointments or creams (especially which enhance the
blood flow or act as local anaesthesia).
Apply the electrodes on clean and healthy skin only.
In the case of bodily hair growth, the hair should be shortened with scissors.
Neither stretch the skin nor the electrodes when applying the electrodes.
Effective current densities of more than 2 mA/cm
2
require an increased
attention of the user with regard to the intensity adjustment. Therefore we
recommend the use of our self-adhesive electrodes with a minimum area of
40x40 mm. Maximum recommended intensity is 53 mA for 40x40 mm
electrodes. Electrodes with 50x50 mm or 40x80 mm may be used up to 80 mA.
If you should use a probe, please clean it carefully before and after use and dry
it completely.
