RUNNING-IN

ridden is designated the ‘running-in’ period.

These maximum speeds must be strictly adhered to during this period.

Do not ride away or race the engine immediately after starting. Run the engine at idle
for a short period of time to allow the oil to circulate to all parts of the engine.
Do not race the engine while the transmission is in neutral.
Do not use full throttle.
Avoid riding continuously at one speed, vary the speed of the motorcycle from time to
time.
Regularly check that the coolant temperature gauge does not indicate that the engine
is overheating. Stop immediately if overheating is indicated and allow the engine to
cool.
Do not allow the engine to ‘labour’ in any gear.
